Hello,
Did everybody have a safe Holiday? Ours was good, very hot but good. After we got the pool filled up last week the kids used it all week-end. They had a great time.
Ken and David Li, the GI doctor that he works with, started a big project at his house. They started putting up a huge swingset. They worked all day Saturday and most of yesterday and aren't' finished yet. They had a great time doing it together. The kids and I went over both afternoons about 3 and they played on the parts that were together.
Gordy and Dolly were here on Sunday and they had a great time with the kids. They swam in the pool, blew bubbles, and Evan read a couple of books to them. Evan is planning a couple of days to stay with them the middle of June and they will all have a great time.
Abbie is still hard at potty training and so far today I have cleaned the floors once and I have decided that my floors will sparkle! Andrew is very off and on with it but he did tell Grandma Dolly that he had to go and then went to we are making progress.
Have a great week!!

Don't we all need a day to just lay back and relax? We got this swing from Mom and Dad and the kids just love it. they were all bent out of joint that it was going to get rained on last-night. It was cute. After I told that the swing was just getting a bath they were Ok with it then.

Potty training is still going on and so far so good. They like to get the stickers so we will keep at it.

I started daycare with an 18 month old litle girl and so far it is going well. the kids really like to have her here and she likes to play with the kids too.

All for now.

Peace and Quiet!

Hello,
We had to come back to the real world after our nice and quiet getaway. It was so nice just to have conversations that weren't interrupted by a "Mommy" or Daddy". Although we missed them a lot and it was strange not to have them there we really enjoyed the time at the cabin. We fished, grilled steak and shrimp, had a fire outside and watched the sunset. Ken got the lawn mowed and we got the cover on the boat lift. I caught four fish, only sunnys but it was fun. The kids were very glad to see us and came screaming to the door, it almost made me cry and Drew said,"Mom, you missed me?" It was so sweet!!!
Everybody needs a little time like this so reflect and have some quiet time and just time to talk. It is great for a great relationship. We had a chance to talk about all that is going on in our lives and how we can handle them.
We talked a lot about Mom and how LUCKY she was that her cancer was caught early and that her margins were clear. Our prayers have done great things in the past and now we pray for strength for her and Dad as we all face her road ahead. It is important to remember the good things they have said about her cancer and that the chemo is a precaution. Her mother had cancer at 32 or so and lived another 48 years. I told Mom that then she should live to be 105!! She didn't think she wanted to live quite that long.
Anyway, thanks for your support and keeping up on our blog!!

Krista

Hello to all,
What a busy week it has been! I have had a sick puking child, Evan, and the other three with runny noses. We are finally at the tail end of it so Grandma Rosemary and Granpa Mark should have a great time with the.
Mom got her pathology report back this week. Although it wasn't great news, it could have been a lot worse. Her margins were clear and it was NOT in her lymph nodes but they did find invasive cells. That means they can't say whether it got into her blood or not so she will need some chemo after all. She goes to see the Oncologist next week and then we will know when it will all start. Since she started her own blog she has had a great response and a lot of people shoeing their support for her and Dad. He hates being gone but has been able to get home and go to her appointments and be there when she needs him! He is doing a great job!! Love you Dad!
Ken and I are heading to the cabin for a couple days of R & R without the kids, hence the Grandma and Grandpa with the kids. They will stay here at our house and we will head out. It is suppose to be very nice weather and we will see if any fish are biting.
Have a great week-end. Check out Mom's blog it is: karen-journey.blogspot.com

It's hard to believe that today Ken and I have been married for 9 years and together for 13. Most days it seems like it has been for ever and sometimes it is like we just met. It is great to think back about all that we have accomplished. Ken has gotten two bachelor's degrees. I have my associates. We have owned two houses. Had four beautiful children. The list could go on and on. I am just thankful that we have have so many wonderful years together and hope that we have many more to come. We are best friends and I can't imagine my life without him in it!

The potty training is going very well with Abbie. Drew has no desire to even try so I am hoping that as Abbie does it all the time that he will to. If you have read Mom's blog, this is a big topic on there.

I went to my day care orientation last night and have a pile of paperwork to get turned in. The sooner the better, the licensing person is having a baby in October. It will take a minimum of 2-3 months to get it all completed. I am going to start watching my first day care child next week and I am excited about that. She is 18 months and just little doll. The kids are going to love having her here.

I think that is all for now. Busy week....Evan started baseball last week and practices Tuesday and Thursday. Going out tonight for our Anniversary. Friday we leave for a quiet week-end at the cabin-----with NO KIDS!!! Ken's Mom and her husband Mark are coming here to stay with the kids! I am looking forward to some R & R.

Take care

Krista

Mother's Day

I hope that everybody had a great Mother's Day!! Mine was good. I got to sleep in a little bit. Ken made a collage of photos for me and the kids gave me a card with all of their handprints in it. Evan planted a Merigod for me at school and I have that out in the back to get some sun. It spent a couple of days in a bag so it needs to recover a little bit. We had to come back from the cabin and then we grilled, baths, and kids to bed. It was a very nice Mother's Day. I am so thankful for the four beautiful children that I have been blessed, and the wonderful husband.

Mom's (Karen) Surgery

Hi to All,
Today is Mom's surgery so say a prayer for all of us. It is hard not being there but I am so glad that we couldl go last week-end and spend that time with her and Dad.After her recovery from surgery she will have 7 weeks of radiation therapy and hopefully that will take care of it. She and Dad have a lot of support there today and the kids and I called and talked to her this AM before she went in to the hospital. It is a same day surgery so she should be home tonight.
Say a little prayer and I will update when I hear from Dad later today. We are heading to the cabin for a work week-end so we can get things ready for the summer and lots of trips up there to fish and camp. It is great ot be so close and be able to go there and relax.

Our House

Here are some photos of our house. They are of the front, the back yard, the living room is the one with the white shelves, the family room is the one with the dark shelves. As you can see, it is all natural, with toys all over the place. You can come and see it any time!!! It looks small form the front but we have 4 bedrooms and 2 hide-a-beds. Lots of room!!! That is all for now. We are heading out at 5 to apicnic for one of the old surgeons that Ken worked with. He is moving this week end. Have a great week.

My Little Gardeners

alt="" />

We had a very nice week-end at Mom and Dad's. We were able to get there about 12:30 so we made it for lunch. After lunch we went out planted in their flower beds. I hauled down dump trucks for the kids and they had a great time hauling dirt, and Owen taste testing it too. We got the flowers in and a lot of good pictures!

Then we had to get ready for a little party for Mom. It was called the "Rally Round Karen Party." (For those of you that haven't heard, she was diagnosed with breast cancer last week. We found out on Friday that if you have cancer that this is the kind to have, so that is good. Tomorrow Dad is going with her to a surgeon to see where we go from here.) the party was fun and it was great to see so many people there to support her and Stacy and I were so glad that we could go to. Stacy found the greatest gift for her, it is something that Grandma and Grandpa Krueger would send. It is a pot of flowers that plays music and the flowers twirl. It got many good laughs.

Sunday we went out for brunch, took the kids to feed the ducks and let them play at the park before the 6 hour trip back. Needless to say after the long week-end the first two hours of the trip was very quiet! That last two were not but we had such a great time and it was good for all of us to be together!

Hope everybody has a great week!

Krista

How time flies! I can't believe that it is Monday already. Our week-end went way too fast. Evan had a Birthday party to go to Friday after school and then he had a sleepover with his friends who are triplets. I must say that breakfast with 7 kids must have been crazy but Ken let me sleep in. The kids had a great time. In spite of the rain we did some much needed running around. Sunday went to church, naps, I worked out and Ken watched the kids. Ken worked out and I went to bed early!

Boring but busy enough. We are planning our renovation to the back yard. I am planning on starting daycare in mid July. We need to get out all of the rock, make flower beds smaller and most importantly get our fence up. I had a little escapee this week.........Andrew went out a locked door twice! I am installing something else that will keep him in, I hope!!

All for now. Have a great week.

Krista
